Get to know some of our members and members of Idaho's amateur radio population.  This page will be dedicated to introducing you to some of our local operators, so check back each month.

February, 2010 Member of the Month is:

N7OCC, Mike Warren and his Hog.  (Hi Hi)  This wasn't the photo he sent for me to use, but I had this one and it worked with his Bio, lol.  Surprise, Mike!

Mike is this year's Chair Person of the Snake River Amateur Radio Club.

OK, MIke!  Introduce yourself.

Hello, I am Mike Warren (N70CC).  I am this year's Chair person for the Snake River Amateur Radio Club.  I live in Caldwell, Idaho and I have loved being a Ham operator for almost 20 years.  I hold a General class license and love the people I get to talk to on the airwaves and the people we meet when we set up Special Event Stations.

I also like doing Emergency Communications and I enjoy talking on the HF Bands and all digital modes especially the PSK 31.

What Rig do you use?

The main radio I operate is a Yaesu FT-857…in fact all my radios are Yaesu…

How about your Dream set Up?

My dream radio would be a Yaesu FT-950.

If you could set up a special event station anywhere, where would you head to?

If I could pick the perfect place to set up a Special Event Station it would have to be on the Oregon or Washington coast…Or Hawaii would probably be the best spot!!!

What else are you into?

My other interest, beside my wife, Cathi, of 36 years, is my Custom Harley that I have built from the ground up…I really enjoy the wind in my hair (what is left of it) and the sun on my back…as you can tell I really am in to pork: I am a ham and I ride a hog…Hi Hi

I love being a part of the clubs and plan to keep on doing it as long I am able to pick up a Mic.
